Fellow Star Wars freaks, i have a question for you!?

Maybe it's just the religion changing over time. All religions do this to an extent. Also who was left to tell the new Jedi the old ways? Anakin was dead, Yoda was dead, Obi-wan was dead. While some of the traditions might have been written of and passed down there didn't seem to be as many true teachers of the old ways so they probably changed things to fit what they saw as the realities of life after the struggles against the Empire.
