Is it legal to make a beat in fruity loops demo and record it with windows sound recorder using the stereo mix?

gonna make a mixtape and i would like it to sound professional, know how to use fruity loops but i cant afford it. so is it legal to just record the sounds it outputs as i play the beat i created? i would be using it commercially. and what would constitute the illegality of this?
